Hot Toys and Enterbay both make high end collectible figures. For the most part they seem to have different licensing or just going for different merchandising; They seem to rarely tread into each others territory and when they do, it’s with significant time not to really compete with each other. Well that seems to have changed now. They both have jumped in the 1/4 scale market (19inches), and both figures are based off of Christopher Nolan’s Batman. Enterbay has done the Dark Knight Batman based on the Batman Begins suit in the beginning of the film. Hot Toys has done the Dark Knight Rises figures that comes with EVERYTHING affiliated with that suit. Both figures are set to drop in 2013 but if you could only get one… which one do you get? Here are the specs:

AND THE WINNER IS…
They are both very well made figures and they both will cost around the same amount ($430 and up depending on where you get them). Enterbay’s Batman really captures the stiffness and the bulk of the first suit. The problem is it looks like a statue at times. The sculpt of Bruce Wayne’s head as good as it is, it feels a bit expressionless. The Hot Toys Batman on the other hand, it has me fooled for a bit longer. At first glance, I think that’s actually Christian Bale playing Batman. The motion eyes keeps that illusion going along with the interchangeable mouths. The Bruce Wayne sculpt has more life in its face; the pores, the pigment, it all gives it a great presence. It’s not just Hot Toys DKR comes with WAY more than Enterbay but mainly Hot Toys just looks more theatrical. It may be the way Hot Toys photographs their figures, but Hot Toys Dark Knight Rises looks like he jumped right off the screen.
